It's sad that it took the death of Chris Sievey to get Frank Sidebottom some serious public acclaim, but better to be recognised posthumously than never at all I guess. The spin-off from that is a glut of new and reissued product, headed up by an audio boxset on its way from Cherry Red (more on that later) and from Network, a first-time DVD release for Frank Sidebottom's Fantastic Shed Show.
November 8th is the shelf date for Frank's first and only TV show, broadcast from the converted shed that functioned as his showbiz HQ, ably assisted by mini sidekick Little Frank. Enjoy once more (or for the first time) Frank's take on Crimewatch, Timperley's contribution to Manchester's Olympic bid, pioneering rocket science in the back garden and a staging of Live Aid 2.
Six episodes and a pilot, with the likes of Mark Radcliffe, Caroline Aherne. Phil Cornwell, Marc Riley, Gerry Anderson, Midge Ure, Adamski, Lee Chapman (footballer), The Farm, Keith Emerson (of Emerson Lake and Palmer), Oceanic, Kevin Lloyd (The Bill) and Nicholas Parsons dropping in. You can pre-order now at Amazon for £7.99.
