I keep saying I'm not updating the site until the new one goes live, but then I see things that perhaps are worthy of a news story a little sooner than that. Like The Story Of Trojan Records box set.
Released on August 29th, this is a newly-compiled archive of classics, rarities and unreleased material across five CDs. Specifically, that means 123 tracks, including a full disc of unreleased rarities. 87 tracks are new to CD, with many having been unavailable since their original release in Jamaica.
Interesting variation on a theme with these Fred Perry long-sleeved polo shirts.
Pretty much as it says really, the classic Fred Perry polo gets long sleeves for the winter months, with collar tipping, button collar and elasticated cuffs.
Not as warm as something like a Smedley, but if you like the look, worth a look. Check out the other colour options over the page, with all retailing for £65 each.
Yes, that's right, another Quadrophenia screening, this time in Brighton on Sunday 28th August, which of course, is on the bank holiday weekend.
Perfect if you happen to be heading to the Brighton weekender taking place then. This screening is part of the pre-promotion for the Quadrophenia Director's Cut boxset and takes place at Brighton Racecourse in conjunction with the Nomad cinema.
According to the organisers, you are invited you to bring a picnic, though hot food and a full bar will be available on site. There’s ample parking, but you might want something to sit on. Capacity is strictly limited so you need to book - £10 gets you in. Also note the screening in September in London, if you aren't near Brighton that weekend.
If you happen to be a fan of the Small Faces, you might well know about this already. If not, the 15th Annual Small Faces Convention 2011 is taking place next month.
Specifically, the date is Sunday 11th September, the venue is the O2 Academy, Islington, London N1, with the event running from 4pm - 11pm. For your money, you'll get seven bands, including the Small Fakers playing 'Ogdens' in its entirety, with John Unwin doing the narration. There's also a big screen showing vintage band footage, DJs, rare merchandise and much more.
Something a little different from TukTuk, these polka dot button-down shirts.
It's the first of the autumn range, with three colours to choose from (Blue/White, Brown/White and Purple/Pink), all with that button-down collar plus a rear collar button, along with a ‘V’ pocket on the left breast, a full sewn in box pleat, a locker loop on the reverse, and a straight cut hem.
Made from 100% cotton, they retail at £55. However, we've got a discount code. Enter MOD at checkout and you'll get 10 per cent knocked off the price. Images of the other colours over the page.
